Wed. 8/29 -- Short video and small group assignment on different types of map projections. What are the advantages and disadvantages of different projections. HW: Print a map tonight showing data that you find interesting. Include the source.
Thur. 8/30 -- Definitions and samples of different types of map. Use homework to identify different types of maps. Categorilla using mapchart.net. HW: You will make a choropleth map showing a top 10 from our list using mapchart.net
Fri. 8/31 -- Historical and modern map making -- Take notes on a powerpoint. What is the difference between GIS, GPS and remote sensing. Use your categorilla map to do a level 4 map analysis. HW: Read pages 4-13, Chapter 1 Key 1.
Economics
Tue. 8/28 -- Welcome to economics, syllabus and policies. Small group project on goods and services. HW: Students need to interview 5 teens about their purchases of goods and services over the last month. Bring back the data on Wednesday.
Wed. 8/29 -- Rejoin groups and compile data. Complete analysis of data and write a conclusion about the data and hypothesis. Due today and short presentations.
Thur. 8/30 -- Begin the vocabulary for chapter 1. Students will use google classroom to complete a slide with a vocabulary word. Each student or pair will present their word.
Fri. 8/31 -- Finish presentations and complete the vocabulary puzzle. Book log-on and access. Quiz for this vocab list will be Wednesday 9/5.
