Wed. 11/16 -- Quiz on the East Asia Map. Korea comparison worksheet. Inside North Korea video segment.
Thur. 11/17 -- Start Japan. Timeline of Japanese history -- yes there are Samurai! Each student will complete one section of the timeline. If you are absent, you still have to complete a secton of the timeline. Get directions from me.
Fri. 11/18 -- Global Issues Paper due. Japanese culture, Modern Japan web, take notes on p. 651-655. Video: Living Treasurers of Japan.
Economics
Mon. 11/14 -- Lecture on Investing. Students will make a model investment portfolio based on the risk level found on their on-line quiz. Portfolio pie graphs will be done in class. We will also learn how to read an stock market report. -- Worksheet done together in class.
Tues. 11/15 -- Computer Lab -- Stock Market Research. If you are absent you need a copy of these directions.
Wed. 11/16 -- Stock Profile. Research into one stock from your group. Each student will write a short profile of a current US stock evaluating its strength as an investment. Again you need the directions (although there is a quick version on the Stock Market Research directions from Tue.)
Thur. 11/17 -- Test Review
Fri. 11/18 -- Test on Labor, Banking and Finance. Chapters 10 and 14.
Ancient Medieval
Mon. 11/14 -- Group project on Byzantine legacies. Each group will report back to the entire class on their topic. Project and presentation points. If you are absent: Write a 200 word paper on one of these topics: Justinian's Law Code, Byzantine architecture (Hagia Sophia), or Eastern Orthodox Christian Church.
Tue. 11/15 -- QZ. on Byzantium. Begin Russia with a reading from the Primary Chronicle. Worksheet on the Russian Empire, p. 307-311.
Wed. 11/16 -- Russia history lecture and video from engineering an empire about Russia. Learn all about Ivan III and Ivan IV. If absent you will need to copy a classmates notes.
Thur. 11/17 -- Mini-project on the Mongols. Groups of 2 or 3 are allowed. See me for complete directions.
Fri. 11/18 -- Review for unit test, worksheet.
