January 28- Feb. 1, 2013

World Geography
Mon. 1/28 -- Hand out books, students will complete maps of Middle America.  There will be a quiz on this map on Wednesday 2/6
Tue. 1/29 -- A few minutes to finish up the maps,  Read p. 228-229 on the Caribbean.  Power point on the Caribbean -- Ms. Fenton's own slides from her trip! Also a few extra :)
Wed. 1/30 -- Map of South America.  Review the map standards and finding information from a map.  We will review both maps at the end of class.  This map and the Middle America map will be combined on the quiz, 2/6.
Thur. 1/31 -- Read pages 201-205, Landforms and Resources.  Review Latin America maps using the power point,  Notes will be taken form the power point showing the physical features divided into mountains, water, resources and forrests. Students will catagories slides from the slide show.  Borrow notes and copy if you are absent.
Fri. 2/1 -- Day 1 in the library working on the Latin American Resources map.  Each student will be assigned a country in LA and will hand-draw a resource map for that country.  We will work Friday and Monday on the project.

Ancient Medieval
Mon. 1/28 -- DVD notes on Minotaur island (copy from classmate). Hand out books.  Worksheet to introduce the Mycenaeans.  Read pages 123-126 and complete the worksheet.
Tue. 1/29 -- Group project on Mycenae.  We will get into groups of four and map a map showing the key points of this ancient city.  If you are absent you can do a smaller version. 
Wed. 1/30 -- About 15 minutes to finish Mycenae.  Power point on the Iron Age of Greece. Get notes from a classmate.  We will also spend about 5 minutes reviewing the map of the quiz.
Thur. 1/31 -- Map quiz of Greece.  Comparision assignment with a partner comparing Athens and Sparta.  Get a copy of the directions if you are absent.
Fri. 2/1 -- Introduce Persia (quickly).  Map of Persia.

Art History
Mon. 1/28 -- Power point graphic organizer on the causes and effects of the Protestant Reformation.  Begin Luther (movie).
Tue. 1/29 -- Luther
Wed. 1/30--  Luther. Art Cards, Mannerism 1-7 DUE
Thur. 1/31 -- Slide Lecture on the Northern Renaissance and the Spanish Counter-Reformation.
Fri. 2/1 -- Notes on the Counter Reformation (about 20 Minutes).  Then a partner project looking a counter-reformation and portestant-reformation documents about art.  Students may read and discuss this in small groups.
