December 9-13, 2013

World Geography
Mon. 12/9 -- Finish maps on East Asia.  Video on China from Discovery Atlas.  Questions go with the video, so if you are absent get a copy of the questions to copy like notes.
Tue. 12/10 -- Worksheet on China (p. 635-639). We will look at a population pyramid and see how China's population control policies are reshaping the country.  Also the policy just changed -- what is the new policy? Reading together about the Three Gorges Dam. p. 628-630. 
Wed. 12/11 -- Korea worksheet -- this is quite short and just compares North and South Korea.  We will watch "Inside North Korea" which is a really fascinating look at the country's isolation from the rest of the world.
Thur.  12/12 -- PowerPoint on East Asia (quiz review) QZ on the East Asia map.  Video "Living Treasurers of Japan
Fri. 12/13 --  Web notes on Japan (p. 651-655).  Make a web of notes about Japan -- History 5 bullets, Economy 5 bullets, Culture 4 bullets and life today  4 bullets.  Discuss Japan and tradition and change. Finish 5 minutes of Gandhi (from substitute) and hand out review sheet.
* Moved the test from Monday to Tuesday.

Ancient Medieval
Mon. 12/9 -- Test on Early Middle Ages and Japan.  Essay has a comparison chart between Charlemagne and Ieyasu Tokugawa. There will be about 20 minutes for review on Monday. Notebook #5 DUE. 
Tue. 12/10 -- Day one in the library for Autobiography on a famous medieval person.  We will have two library days.  The paper will be due Wednesday before vacation.

Fri 12/13 -- TBA

Economics
Mon. 12/9 -- Computer lab to work on corporation project and culminating portfolios.
Tue. 12/10 -- Computer lab to work on corporation project and culminating portfolios.  The Corporation projects are DUE by 3:30 p.m. today.  Power points can be e-mailed to me at Jonnie.Fenton@rsd.edu
Wed. 12/11 -- Cartoon vocabulary on the five types of unemployment.  Notes on how unemployment is figured and why it is always understated.  Culminating Portfolios due (you may not have all of your best works at this time).
Thur. 12/12 -- Test Review
Fri. 12/13 -- Test on Economic policy unit.
